EYAL ELRON ARCHITECT
Cities of (G)old
An animated illustration of my architectural studies final project at The Technion, which concludes accumulated knowledge from five years of studing.
The modern way of life, along with innovative developements in different life areas, have brought to a significant increasing of the human life span in the past century, a tendency which will be continued in the seen future.
That tendency would bring to the situation in which the population of those who are called - elderly - would grow and become a much influential part of sociaty, for better or for worse, and it's worth considering to integrate that group inside the whole social structure of the city.
In this short film you can see how the idea of inter-generetional planning as a generator has helped developed a unique and new living infrastructure.
For further information, see "Academic Projects" tab.
It's recommanded to watch in a fullscreen display via the Youtube channel:
Model was built in Rhinoceros program, topography in Sketchup. Accessories, effects and animation production in Lumion. Final editting in Adobe Premiere.
Dynamic Module
The final project in the series of structural details course which focued on light structure.
In collaboration with Roi Friebroon, under the direction of Arch. Eyal Karni and Arch. Simha Afek.
academic year 2013-14.
In this project we had to offer an expansion to the cafe located in the architecture faculty, in its outer square, which faces towards the Haifa bay.
Our offer was to built a structure that allows flexibilty according to the climatic changes, by building an array of dynamic modules, made of mimbranes, tin and steel, and a glass envelope which, as well as the modules, can be shifted according to varied necessities.
It's reccomended to watch the animated illustration for further understanding:
The model was built in Rhinoceros and the animation was produced in 3ds max.
The project was nominated for excellency in technological category.

Massive Crowd Simulation - Virtual Reality
An exercise in building a virtual enviroment as part of "Virtual Raelity" course. tutored by guest lecturer SeungWan Hong.
The project was develpoed in collaboration with Michael Weizmann and Lotem Kirsht, and through it we explored moving methods of different amounts of people in a specific enviroment that we've been planning, according to different elements that had different effection in the wide space.
The model was built in 3ds man and Rhinoceros.
The algorithms of conditions for movement in the space were planned in Virtools.

Lighting Detail 1:1 - Interior Design
As part of interior design, in the faculty of architecture, my partner, Ezra Ozery and I, have decided to take the project one step further.
We have decided that besides of standart drawings and illustartion, it is needed to display the lighting object that we've planned "in the flesh" (pun intended) and so, we've built a lighting detail in 1:1 size.
The lighting structure contains mivement sensors which activate LED bulbs at the moment that a curtain person passes along the different parts of the structure, a process that produces light gradually and gives a magical illusion of sort.
But why elaborating in words when these two short films can show it all perfectly.

What is Winter?
A short film that I made for Rona Lazar, a classmate from my highschool years in the Hebrew Reali School, as part of a research she was working on in her studies in The University of Haifa.
The research is about the existentialist perception, which, according to, each individual experiences reality in a way that others would not fully understand, and from that derives the spessific question of how each individual experiences the winter season.
This short film is a part of a much longer one that was edited by Omer Avital and was presented by Rona in 2015.

The Moriah Line
A project I made as part of Experimental Art Course during my architecture studies in the summer of 2011,
The project was made in the method of "Walking Art" that the course was focused on and in inspiration of the "Via Dolorosa" work of artist Moti Mizrahi that was examined as a case study.
In my work. I've walked through the route of bus line 37 in Haifa from its first stop in the central transit station of Bat-Galim, to its stop in Moriah avenue, close to the crossroad with ZafririmSt. the location where, on March 5th, 2003, a terrorist attack has occurred in which 17 men and women were murdered. 12 of which were children who've just finished their day at school.
This work is for the memory and honor of the victims.
The process eas under the direction of Arch. Sharon Yavo-Ayalon and Artist Daniel Shoshan.
The sound that can be heard is from the SOT of "The dark knight" composed by Hans Zimer and James Newton and produced by the Warner Brothers and they own the rights for that.
